A two-piece band from the Kansas flats, Poor Bishop Hooper is Jesse Braswell Roberts and his bride Leah.
Weaving a patchwork of melodies atop an upright bass and a guitar, Hooper plays American tunes ranging from bluegrass romps to the sweetest of love songs. Jesse and Leah also have an extensive collection of original songs, written from the bellies of what they know: adventure and hardship, faith and desire. They released two full length albums in 2014: Foreign Made a collection of original works, and Bricktop, a collection American standards from the '30s and '40s. They currently reside in Kansas City, KS.
