Kep1er

Formed through Mnet’s survival show Girls Planet 999, Kep1er is a nine-member K-pop girl group comprised of Yujin, Yeseo, Xiaoting, Mashiro, Chaehyun, Dayeon, Hikaru, Huening Bahiyyih, and Youngeun.
With a name loosely based on German astronomer Johannes Kepler, Kep1er was formed in 2021 through the survival show Girls Planet 999. They debuted in January 2022 with the mini-album First Impact. Featuring the lead single “Wa Da Da,” the set’s range of electronic sounds landed the group a number one debut on the Gaon charts. “Wa Da Da” also earned Kep1er their first music show award on M Countdown later that month. Two more EPs, Doublast and Troubleshooter, appeared later that year. ~ David Crone
