About this artist

A country-rap unit based out of the Panhandle city of Vernon, Florida, Cypress Spring cite the “lives of everyday people” and a general attitude of “cowboy up or sit down” as the inspiration behind their Southern rock-fueled brand of small-town hick-hop. Founded in 2013 around the talents of Paul Roche, Kalan Miller, Greg Hogue, and Jacob Parish, the quartet grew up on a steady diet of Lynyrd Skynyrd, Merle Haggard, Nelly, T.I., and Ludacris. The brainchild of Roche and Miller, lifelong friends who, along with making music, hunt, fish, and party together, the quartet dropped their debut single, “Way of Life,” in 2014, which featured the Lacs and Danny Boone. An EP of the same name was released the following year via Average Joes Entertainment, the home of like-minded backwoods genre pushers such as Colt Ford, Lenny Cooper, and the Lacs. Led by the title track single, Cypress Spring released their debut full-length, Denim, in early 2017, featuring guest spots from buddies and labelmates Ford, Boone, and the Lacs. A second full-length, American White Trash, arrived in 2018. ~ James Christopher Monger
