About this artist

Dutch singer/songwriter Duncan Laurence is a pop artist known for competing on The Voice Holland in 2014 and for winning the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest with his song “Arcade.” He followed his success with the release of his 2020 debut album, Small Town Boy.
Born in Spijkenisse but raised in Hellevoetsluis, Laurence first appeared in 2013 when he formed a pop group called the Slick and Suited. Not long afterward, in 2014, he kick-started a solo career by reaching the semifinals in the fifth season of The Voice Holland, which ultimately caused him to quit the Slick and Suited in 2016. Laurence was chosen to represent the Netherlands in the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest, going on to win the competition with his song “Arcade.” The following year, he put out his debut solo EP, Worlds on Fire, and released his full-length debut, Small Town Boy. Buoyed by “Arcade,” the album reached number six in the Netherlands and spawned several other singles, including “Love Don’t Hate It,” “Someone Else,” and “Sleeping on the Phone.” ~ Liam Martin
