About this artist

Going under the moniker of Vintage Culture, Lukas Ruiz Hespanhol (Mondo Novo, 1993) is a Brazilian DJ and producer of electronic dance music, with a particular affinity for the progressive house genre. After teaching himself how to DJ watching tutorials online, Ruiz started attracting attention in the early 2010s with his remixes of artists such as New Order, Pink Floyd, Cazuza, and Fernanda Abreu. By 2015 he was an established figure in the Brazilian electronic scene, and he soon began featuring in important festivals, as well as touring internationally and making a splash on the Beatport lists with tracks such as “Drinkee” and “Wild Kidz.” His global profile kept on growing after signing with both Spinnin Records and the management agency Spin Agency (the same of superstars like Avicii and Armin van Buuren), which in turn allowed him to perform at festivals such as Coachella, Burning Man, Tomorrowland, and Time Warp. Back in Brazil, Ruiz founded his own label (Só Track Boa) and festival (Vintage Is a Festival). His first full-length, Come Come, was earmarked for a November 2024 release. ~ Mariano Prunes
