Vanessa Bongo

Vanessa Bongo, born on the small island of Barbados, travelled to Jamaica at 19 years old and has been living & working there for the past 8 years. This calypso soul is finding her reggae roots and intends to “spread the Bongo Vibez” to free spirits across the world.

In 2016, she captured a wide audience,  with her bubbly reggae single, “Sensimilla State of Mind”. SSOM is an ode to achieving focus and happiness, produced by Notis Records. This production group is widely known for their hit singles, “Holiday” by Ding Dong, “Diamond Sox” by Iba Mahr ft. Taurus Riley & “Come Over” by Busy Signal.
Her latest 2019 release, “Great Tings”, is an inspirational dancehall track about her trials of being stuck as an ‘upcoming artist’ but overcoming fears knowing she is on the verge of ”great tings”. It was produced by Maxx 749 Productions and is an introduction to her upcoming EP, “Earth To Bongo”.

So far, VBo has travelled and performed both sound system and live band style in Jamaica, Barbados & the European island of Malta. Some of her performances include stages like The Negril Steppin’ High Ganja Festival 2018, Malta‘s National Beer Festival and Bob Marley‘s 74th Earthstrong Celebration : Catcha Fire 74. She is currently a 2019 Bob Marley Foundation Brand Ambassador.

Ms Bongo’s sound is influenced by Lauryn Hill, Buju Banton & Bob Marley and her infectious smile & energy will have your body & soul rockin’ all night and all summer long!
