このアーティストについて

Rapper and singer Tyla Yaweh brings rock star energy to a hook-driven mixture of trap, pop, and R&B. Active since the latter half of the 2010s, Tyla made his name with a handful of melodious and downcast tracks before moving in a pop direction with “She Bad” (2018). His debut album Heart Full of Rage (with the word rage being an acronym for “release all good energy”) arrived in 2019, and Tyla reached the Billboard charts for the first time with “Tommy Lee,” his 2020 single with Post Malone. 2021′s bouncy “Back Outside” had more in common with his earlier material. Additional singles like 2023′s aptly named “Summer Vibes” preceded his second album, Heart Full of Rage 2.
Born Tyler Brown, Tyla Yaweh grew up in Orlando. He chose to give music a shot after his mother kicked him out of their house for dealing drugs. While gaining a foothold in Los Angeles, he built interest with a handful of commercially available tracks supported across 2017 by Repost Network and Get Dough. Noticed by Dre London, Post Malone’s manager, Tyla consequently signed with London Entertainment (not to be confused with London Records). Before the year was over, he made his London debut with “Drugs & Pain.” A handful of singles including “Gemini” and the more pop-oriented “She Bad” followed in 2018.
Through a London-facilitated deal with major-label Epic, Tyla’s career shot upward with the 2019 release of Heart Full of Rage. The brief ten-track set contained alternately bleak and boastful tracks produced by the likes of Simon Says, Hector Soundz, and the trio of Garibay, Ramiro Padilla, and Sorry Jaynari. PnB Rock and French Montana made guest appearances, and lead track “High Right Now” was given a remix featuring Wiz Khalifa. In June 2020, Yaweh paired with Post Malone for the track “Tommy Lee,” a song inspired by and featuring the Mötley Crüe drummer. 2021 saw the release of the head-nodding “Back Outside” and “Hands Up” (featuring Morray). In 2022, he issued the singles “Do No Wrong” (featuring Trippie Redd and PnB Rock) and “Sex Symbol,” rounding out the year with “Mile High.” The 2023 single “Summer Vibes” was released as a preview of that August’s Heart Full of Rage 2, which featured appearances by Chris Brown, Toosii, and Ty Dolla $ign. ~ Andy Kellman
