Tico de Moraes is a singer, 7-string guitarist and songwriter of Brazilian music and Jazz. His repertoire explores the Bossa Nova and the great American Jazz songbook, especially focusing on the memorable songs composed by Cole Porter, George and Ira Gershwin, Irving Berlin, as well as the ones interpreted by Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan, Chet Baker and Harry Connick Jr. Tico is also very much influenced by the pop music and he dedicates his arrangements to blending bands and artists like the Beatles, James Taylor, Supertramp and Sting with Bossa Nova, Brazilian music and Jazz elements.
Tico de Moraes started his career at the age of 23. He participated in the Festival Internacional de Jazz de Guaramiranga (Ceará, Brazil), in 2007. In 2015, he released his first EP called Just Thoughts with only his original songs. In 2018, Tico released the album Fine, which brings Jazz standards and pop hits. Tico also performed in several Jazz Festivals in Brazil and, in 2019, he was invited to participate in a Festival, Latvia.
Tico also released several albums, EPs and singles, being all available on Spotify. Among those, it is worth highlighting his original songs Much Rain, Our Crime, Break in and She’s Awesome, which unravel a mix of Jazz and Pop with some electronic elements and have reached hundreds of thousands of streams on Spotify. Tico de Moraes has been producing his concert Jazz and Brazilian music in several important venues in Brazil.
