About this artist

Less than two years after he made his recorded debut, singer/rapper theHxliday joined the Motown roster as a teenager with his conversational approach to mixing contemporary R&B and pop-oriented rap. Since achieving his breakthrough with the breakup ballad “Enemy,” the Maryland native has released the EPs Broken Halls (2020) and Batbxy (2021).
Born Noah Malik Lee, theHxliday was raised in suburban Baltimore, specifically Perry Hall. He got into music through his mother, who performed in a band, and as a youngster, he developed his talent in vocal groups that included the Maryland State Boychoir. During his high school years, Lee opted to fully pursue music as a singer, rapper, songwriter, and producer. Starting in 2018, he issued his first tracks, and the next year, he released “Enemy,” what he considers his first true single. It was certainly his most popular recording to that point, as its commercial streams quickly surpassed one million. The five-track Broken Halls, his debut EP, was out in 2020, followed by a deal with Motown and a subsequent expanded edition of Broken Halls. A handful of supplemental singles in late 2020 and early 2021 led to theHxliday’s second EP, Batbxy. ~ Andy Kellman
