Juan Miguel Villar, who records under the mononym Tali Goya a/k/a Tali, is a Dominican born recording artist raised in New York City, New York. Tali Goya uses a mix of English and Spanish lyrics on hip-hop beats.



Early Life



Tali Goya was born September 28, 1990, in the Dominican Republic, his mother relocated with him to the Manhattan in New York City. He grew up in the Washington Heights a sub-borough in Manhattan with his mother and siblings.Tali Goya went to high school Louis D. Brandeis in Midtown Manhattan, during his freshman year there he met Latin performing artist Messiah (who is regarded as a pioneer in the creation of the Latin Trap music genre). He and Messiah formed the group "Tali and Messiah" with then label La Reina Records.


Music Career


Tali Goya and Messiah formed the group "Tali and Messiah" and they released mixtape projects and singles. The group peaked at spots 28 and 38 on Billboard's Tropical chart. The group broke up, and Tali moved on to form a solo career. In September of 2014, Tali Goya and Messiah collaborated and released the song titled Tamo Lindo which took to the airwaves in U.S. cities.


Tali Goya released a mixtape titled "Comida De Perro". After the release of the mixtape and single titled "Tamo Lindo" Tali Goya formed a relationship with prominent Latin music performing artist Arcángel. Tali Goya and ] recorded music together after they met, and ] presented Tali Goya to a Madison Square Garden crowd on February 6, of the year 2015 as a new member to the Flow Factory Inc music label. The song titled "Flow Cabron" was released in 2015 which featured the performance of Arcángel and Tali Goya.

On September of 2015 Tali Goya turned himself into New York City Department of Correction and serve a one-year jail sentence at Rikers Island where he completed eight months out of a year term he agreed to with the New York Supreme Court. He was released in May of 2016. After his release from jail, he released a mixtape project that featured previously recorded songs.
