Smoky

About this artist

Smoky is a Latin rap artist from the Mexican coastal resort city of Mazatlán in Sinaloa. In 2005, when he was just 16, Smoky formed the Poetas Callejeros collective and began performing locally at some of Mazatlán’s major festivals. Over the coming years he developed his craft, touring Mexico and gaining widespread exposure through collaborations with the 3BallMTY trio and the Latin Power Music company that were produced by Toy Selectah. The next few years brought radio play throughout Latin America, more touring, and appearances at Billboard’s Mexican Music Awards, Premios Juventud, and the People en Español Awards. By 2014, Smoky had left Latin Power Music and ventured out on his own, releasing his own singles and collaborating with Mexican urban artist Zimple on the 2015 hit “Mamacita” and with MC Davo on the single “La Propuesta.” Signing with Warner Music in early 2016, Smoky returned in 2017 with the singles “¿Cuánto Más?” and “Sola.” ~ Timothy Monger
