Norwegian dance-pop production duo Simen Eriksrud and Espen Berg, known as SeeB, have numerous international hits to their name, including remixes and original collaborations. Breaking through with their tropical house remix of Mike Posner’s 2015 single “I Took a Pill in Ibiza,” the duo went on to remix songs by stars like Coldplay, Taylor Swift, and Ed Sheeran and scored hits collaborating with OneRepublic, Bastille, Highasakite, and others. Their debut full-length, Sad in Scandinavia, arrived in 2021 and included additional appearances by artists such as Goodboys, Zak Abel, and K CAMP. Their subsequent singles have included collaborations with Alexander Stewart and BANNERS. The Norwegian duo first came together as owners of Oslo’s The Living Room, a recording studio used by acts from the glamorous pop superstar Lady Gaga to the Polish death metal act Khold. Simen & Espen earned their own production credits beginning in 2012 with work on Loreen’s Living Room album Heal, and in 2014, they worked on Kiesza’s Sound of a Woman, with SeeB getting a credit for remixes sourced from the album. After debuting with a 2015 single, “Simple Life,” SeeB came into its own with 2016′s “Breathe,” released by EMI and featuring vocals from Neev. That year, they made their mainstream breakthrough with a remix of Mike Posner’s “I Took a Pill in Ibiza,” which broke into the Top 10 across Europe and in the United States. Remixes of Coldplay’s “Hymn for the Weekend” and OneRepublic’s “Kids” followed, further increasing their audience. In 2017, the duo returned with the singles “Under Your Skin” with R. City, “Boys in the Street” featuring Greg Holden, and “Cruel World,” a collaboration with Skip Marley. Also that year, they paired with OneRepublic for the track “Rich Love.” SeeB’s debut EP, Nice to Meet You, appeared in 2018 and included the single “Drink About,” featuring singer Dagny. Later that year, they teamed with Bastille for the single “Grip.” “Free to Go” (with Highasakite) and “Bigger Than” (featuring Justin Jesso) both hit the Norwegian charts in 2019. SeeB began 2020 with the Julie Bergan collaboration “Kiss Somebody,” which preceded subsequent singles with American Authors, Goodboys, Zak Abel, and others. Debut full-length Sad in Scandinavia arrived in 2021 and included several previously released singles as well as additional tracks featuring K CAMP, Kiddo, Simon Jonasson, and more. The album reached number 25 on the Norwegian chart and was followed by a 20-track set of remixes. “Sweet Dreams & Dynamite,” a collaboration with singer Nina Nesbitt, was released in 2021. The duo worked again with Julie Bergan on the 2022 single “Always,” which was followed by “Would You Lie” with Alexander Stewart. “Submarine,” a collaboration with BANNERS and SUPER-Hi, appeared in 2023. ~ David Jeffries & Paul Simpson
