Seb D is an electronic music project that is the brainchild of talented German Music Collector/DJ Sebastian Demske. Born and raised amongst the thriving, ever evolving German electronic arts scene.
In true German style, his first job was a natural progression and saw him working at the Emmy award winning, Bear Family Records label.
Where surrounded by their extensive record catalogue and archive he started exploring all the soul, funk, blues and jazz gems our time has to offer.
Training his ear early to the classic sounds that would later form some of the loops and beats of his future performances, while having access to hidden techno gems through his work allowed Seb to stand out from other DJs.
Continuing a journey through the German scene, he progressed to playing his own selections within the German electronic club scene, beginning what would become an established DJ career within Germany.
Jumping on a plane to the other side of the world after forging a successful career in the epicentre of electronic music may seem crazy when most DJs and producers are moving to Germany to establish their credibility and name.
But ever original and determined to keep evolving Seb packed up his studio and records to move to Melbourne.
Uncovering the hidden thriving techno scene that is Melbourne he decided it was the perfect place to launch the project Seb D.
Building a reputation as an electronic purist with hidden groovy secrets up his sleeve, inspired by the ever evolving Melbourne electronic scene has lead him to expand into hosting boutique underground dance events across Melbourne.
That said it seemed like it was only a matter of time until he teamed up with passionate friends to take on and give Melbournes iconic nightclub 24 Moons the touch it deserved.
But don't worry mate, Seb will continue to showcase and perform music from his extensive and always extending collection.
Preferring to allow the music to speak for itself Seb will take you back to a time when the dancers were the stars and the DJs set the mood and tone of the night.
A simpler time, when warehouses and club nights were filled with genuine passion and creativity, a time before EDM and socialite DJs.
Melbourne like Germany still has that vibe, the scene still thrives of enthusiasts and artists alike who have a genuine passion for electronic music.
It's no wonder he has chosen Melbourne as the place to launch the next step of his endeavour in the music industry.
Melbourne has a scene that allows an act like this to launch and recapture the spirit and creativity that was originally pioneered within the German techno scene.
