Ryan Crosson

このアーティストについて

Metro Detroit-raised Ryan Crosson was heavily inspired by the second wave of Detroit techno DJs, such as Richie Hawtin (aka Plastikman). After taking DJ gigs around the Detroit area for several years, he made the jump to production in fall 2003. Inspired by such minimal techno artists as Matthew Dear and Stewart Walker, his demos were well received by the Cologne-based Trapez imprint, which released his debut 12″, Say So, in 2005. He co-founded the Detroit collective Beretta Grey and has released other records on such minimal techno imprints as Archipel and Telegraph. His tracks found their hands into Richie Hawtin’s hands, and as a result, Crosson found himself with a prime slot on many of Hawtin’s projects on M-nus. Crosson records for M-nus under the alias Berg Nixon and has appeared on the DE9: Transitions mix CD as well as the min2Max compilation in 2006. He also records with Seth Troxler (aka Young Seth) under the pseudonym Retale. ~ Rob Theakston
