Ronald Stevenson (born 6 March 1928, Blackburn, Lancashire, England – died 28 March 2015, West Linton, Scotland) was a British composer, pianist, and writer about music. Father of clàrsach player and grandfather of violinist/fiddler .
Ronald Stevenson was born in 1928 in Blackburn, Lancashire, of Scots descent. He now lives in Scotland. He has appeared internationally as a concert pianist in an enormous range of music. He is especially associated with the music of Grainger and of Busoni, on whom he is a leading authority. As composer he has received a number of important commissions, and has written two piano concertos, a violin Concerto, and numerous other works. He gave the first performance and first broadcast of Center's Piano Sonata. .
