RomLawrell was born March 22, 1992 in Chicago, Illinois. He always knew he wanted to be an entertainer. Growing up, he enjoyed entertaining his family and friends by singing and dancing. His parents saw something special in him, causing them to support the young star in pursuing his dreams.
He won his first talent competition at the age of 6, singing “Candy Rain” by Soul for Real at a local talent show. He was also involved in various activities, including singing, dancing and acting, in elementary and high school, that help to cultivate his skills as an artist and a performer. Romarius' music has been influenced by rock, R&B, soul, funk, rap, electronica, dance and pop. His artistic influences include Michael Jackson, Prince, Grace Jones and Usher. His sound, a hybrid of dance, R&B and pop, mirrors that of a few of his contemporaries, including Rihanna, Robyn, Taio Cruz and Chris Brown
“When I’m competing or auditioning, the lights and stage take on a whole new meaning to me. Each and every time, I’m a completely different being... as if I’m from another planet," says Romarius. " When I get that feeling performing on stage, I know that this is where I’m supposed to be."
With his multifaceted talents and determination to make a name for himself, this 26-year-old singer is well on his way to reaching new career heights on his road to becoming a house hold name.
