French pianist and composer born in 1975 in France, now based in New York City, Collin came to the US to attend Berklee College of Music on a scholarship, where he majored in Music Synthesis and studied performance with the likes of Dave Liebman and Joe Lovano. In 2007, Romain graduated from the prestigious Thelonious Monk Institute of Jazz where he held a Full Scholarship. Collin has taught improvisation at the New School of Music in New York, and was invited to teach film scoring at Princeton University as a guest lecturer. He performed alongside artists such as Mike Stern, Gregoire Maret, John McLaughlin, Bill Frisell, Christian McBride, Clarence Penn, Lauryn Hill and Kurt Rosenwinkel.
