Patti Austin was born in the wrong era. She has a wondrous Soul-Jazz-Pop voice that should be placed in the same classic but lively settings as Dinah Washington or '60s Nancy Wilson. But instead, Austin has had an ultra-busy career as a studio singer for Quincy Jones. She did have one mondo hit with "Baby, Come to Me."
