Nick Murphy, the New York-based Australian producer and musician formerly known as Chet Faker, recently announced that he will now write, produce, record and perform under his real name. The name change symbolizes a musical evolution for Murphy.
As Chet Faker, Murphy released his critically acclaimed debut album Built On Glass in 2014. He went on to perform “Gold” on The Ellen DeGeneres Show and Jimmy Kimmel Live!, and the video was nominated for an MTV Video Music Award. Single "Talk is Cheap" was crowned #1 in the triple j Hottest 100, and Murphy won 5 ARIA Awards for Built On Glass. Murphy has performed sold out shows on five continents, including three nights at New York’s Terminal 5 in 2015, and has played at the world’s top festivals including Coachella, Lollapalooza, Outside Lands, FYF Fest, Glastonbury and Primavera Sound.
