The NHK Kōkyōgakudan, formally known in English as NHK Symphony Orchestra, is a Japanese orchestra that belongs to Japan's national broadcaster, NHK (日本放送協会, Nippon Hōsō Kyōkai).
Founded under the name of New Symphony Orchestra on 5th October 1926, the orchestra was renamed Japan Symphony Orchestra in 1927 and took its current name in 1951 after receiving financial support from NHK.
