NERIAH

About this artist

Los Angeles native Neriah has a knack for spinning heartbreak into confessional, ear-catching pop songs. Early songs like “Loner” and “2008″ fused piano balladry with light electronic flourishes, though she later broke out with a more expansive pop sound on 2022′s viral hit “Lego Blocks” and “Unfinished Business,” the latter from her second EP, How Do I Get Clean?. She continued to channel her emotions into the intimate alt-pop of 2023′s No One Cries Forever EP. Born in Los Angeles, Neriah Fisher grew up amid celebrity culture; her mother is television personality Brooke Burke and her father is Extreme Makeover plastic surgeon Garth Fisher. She began singing at a young age and, following her parents’ divorce, took refuge in her music. Prior to relaunching as Neriah, she began her career as a pop singer/songwriter in the late 2010s under her full name and released several albums for the Republic label. Starting with 2020′s “Loner,” she started using her first name as a mononym, and issued a string of intimate singles that split the difference between softer piano-led songwriting and lush pop. Her sound took on an alt-pop tone with 2022′s “At Least I’m Good at It” and the viral smash “Lego Blocks,” both of which appeared on her first EP This Is How the World Made Me. A second EP, How Do I Get Clean?, appeared later that year, centering around breakup tracks like “Unfinished Business” and “Breakup Sex.” Neriah continued releasing music at a prolific pace, with 2023 tracks like “Falling 4 Somebody” and the EP No One Cries Forever. ~ Timothy Monger
