Sobre esse artista

This Busan, South Korea singer, rapper, and songwriter focuses on slick and sensual R&B-based pop. She was born in 1994 and sang along to her favorite records. Her earliest appearance as a recording artist was in 2015 as a guest on the J’s “Bed Talk.” Until the end of 2020, she was simply known as Moon. 2016 saw her collaborate on a single with the Korean rap trio Kigga, before going on a short hiatus. When she returned in late 2018 it was with her debut single, “Million,” a track that featured a rap by Gyeongju’s Dok2. This kicked off a long relationship with Million Market, an arm of SM Entertainment. 2019 brought its follow-up — “Day n Night” — as well as guest appearances on numerous singles by artists such as Sik-K, Simon Dominic and Gray. In 2020, Moon issued three solo singles — “Woo,” “2NIGHT,” and “Walk in the Night” — and also contributed to a prestigious multi-artist collaborative single titled “Automatic,” which featured Chancellor, Babylon, twlv, Bibi, and Jiselle.
In April 2021, she kicked off a new era by issuing music as Moon Sujin for the first time with “The Moon,” a piano ballad recorded in collaboration with NCT member Taeil. It became her most successful track to date, and Moon Sujin’s profile was further amplified by appearances on JTBC’s reality TV singing competition, Superband2. After contributing the haunting electro-pop piece “Hide and Seek,” to the soundtrack of tvN’s mystery thriller Hometown, she closed the year with the comparatively carefree single “Nundongja.”
2022 began with another soundtrack contribution, this time in the shape of “It’s Up to You,” a sultry, jazzy cut which was featured on the SBS & Netflix romantic comedy series A Business Proposal. Moon Sujin’s next collaboration with Jiselle, “Only U,” had a ’90s R&B vibe and appeared in the same month as her debut EP. May 2022’s Lucky Charms! featured the aforementioned “Nundongja” as well as guest appearances from Miso, Tabber, and Karenici. That October brought “Off My Face,” a faithful cover of Justin Bieber’s 2021 hit single. ~ James Wilkinson
