Bu sanatçı hakkında

Under the moniker Mokita, Nashville singer, songwriter, and producer John-Luke Carter creates lyrical and buoyant electronic-based pop with acoustic elements. After racking up writing and production credits for acts like Stephen Puth, Zac Brown Band, and Matoma, he found solo success with his 2019 breakout single “Colorblind.” Mokita remained prolific over the next few years recording an array of singles and releasing the 2022 EP, Color Me In, on the Nettwerk label.
Raised in Nashville, Carter was classically trained in piano in his youth and first started performing in his church. Later, he taught himself to play guitar and eventually transitioned into electronic music production. In 2015, working under the stage name Mokita, he began releasing tracks online including “Monopoly” and “Dreamer,” featuring Kaptan. Over the next few years, he delivered a barrage of singles including “Heaven,” “Goodbye” featuring Maty Noyes, and the Chuck Adams and Goldhouse collaboration “Take Me as I Am.” Songs like 2018′s “With You” and “London” began to put up big numbers on the streaming networks, but it was Mokita’s heartfelt 2019 track “Colorblind” that attained viral success.
Heading into the next decade, he built on his momentum with additional Goldhouse collaborations, “I Don’t Wanna Know” and “Washout,” and popular solo singles like the piano ballad “Down” and the soulful “Would You Still Want Me?” October 2022 brought Mokita’s Color Me In EP which collated several of that year’s most popular singles including “Room for Another” and “Crash” featuring Charlotte Sands. ~ Matt Collar
