About this artist

Miranda! calls their music "melodramatic electro-pop." Alejandro Sergi and Juliana Gattas, whose staged romantic histrionics fuel the group's shows, formed Miranda! in 2001, a time when Argentina was in the midst of a dismal economic crisis, and their flashy, sexually ambiguous style and anything-goes message offered a much-needed escape to Buenos Aires clubgoers used to the more introspective Argentine rock of the '80s and '90s. In 2002, Miranda! was Argentina's top indie act, and critics proclaimed their debut album
Es Mentira to signal the dawn of a new era of glamour and optimism. With 2004's Sin Restricciones, teens all over Latin America adopted the catchy, campy pop songs as their own. Miranda!'s third album, El Disco de tu Corazon, was released in 2007.
