LSDXOXO

About this artist

LSDXOXO is praised throughout the dance world for his aggressive, sex-positive hybrid of ballroom, hip-house, breakbeat techno, and other styles of club music. His explosive DJ sets cleverly incorporate hooks and vocals from mainstream pop hits, as well as underground styles such as Baltimore club and hardcore. Through his involvement in club nights such as New York’s GHE20G0TH1K and his own Berlin-based Floorgasm, LSDXOXO has stayed true to his mission to reclaim Black queer dancefloors. Since the early 2010s, he’s collaborated with artists such as Cakes da Killa, Bbymutha, Kelela, and Shygirl, and released several well-received mixtapes, particularly 2018′s Body Mods, as well as EPs like 2021′s Dedicated 2 Disrespect.
Born in Philadelphia, RJ Glasgow began making homemade dance edits of pop and hip-hop hits when he was in high school. He later moved to New York City and became affiliated with the GHE20G0TH1K crew. His first release as LSDXOXO, 2013′s Softcore, included collaborations with queer rappers Cakes da Killa and Le1f, as well as Jersey club queen UNiiQU3. This was followed by releases such as 2014′s Whorecore, 2015′s Sacanagem, and 2016′s GHE20G0TH1K-issued Fuck Marry Kill, which gained notoriety for its club remix of Kanye West’s “Freestyle 4.” 2018′s Body Mods, which included club edits of hits by Depeche Mode, Missy Elliott, and Mr. Vegas, became an instant underground favorite.
Glasgow moved to Berlin and established his Floorgasm event, which he started in New York, as a monthly series. He released the mixtape Waiting 2 Exhale in 2020, followed by the single “Dying for It 2021.” Dedicated 2 Disrespect, his 2021 debut EP for XL, contained four tracks that focused on his own sexually charged vocals rather than samples. ~ Paul Simpson
