Libero Bovio (Napoli, June 8, 1883 - † Napoli, May 26, 1942) was a poet, writer, playwright, Italian journalist, author of lyrics of many famous songs in neapolitan language. Along with Salvatore Di Giacomo, Ernesto Murolo and E. A. Mario was an architect of the so-called "Golden Age of Neapolitan Song".
He was also the author of plays, including Gente nosta, 'O professore,'O Macchiettista and also of songs with more dramatic tones than those that had given him fame, such as Lacreme napulitane, Carcere, 'E figlie, Zappatore, Guapparia.
