Leila Dey (formally known as PG) has been in and out of the Toronto Urban scene for a few years now. Starting her career off in high school and maintaining her artistry throughout her post-secondary career, Leila had to learn to balance the pursuit of education and music. Now, a graduate of Ryerson University in Toronto, ON she’s ready to pursue music full force.
Despite appearing to be absent from Toronto's music scene, Leila has been hard at work. Over the last couple of years her textured vocals have lent themselves to collaborate with artists like Joel Ortiz, Vybz Kartel, Luu Breeze, and Rayzak to name a few. Not to mention performing with K’naan at Luminato, being a part of Manifesto’s first all-female cypher to recently opening for Melanie Fiona and Teedra Moses.
Teaming up with Sandbox Studios to develop and produce her next few projects, Leila is in the studio every day, working on new material, developing her sound and voice. "Being in the studio everyday has been such a learning experience, because there's no rush to get things done fast, it's about getting it done right” says Leila Dey.
Focused on being a voice well known in the city, Leila is preparing to release her EP, where she teamed up with Battle of The Beat Maker Champion, Jordon Manswell as she finishes up her follow-up project, which is set to release summer 2016.
