An avid listener and natural creator, Kyra’s sets bring out the inner child in each of us that we thought we left behind long ago.
With a heavy focus on the feminist girl-power sounds of 1970’s disco queens, Kyra’s track selections evoke a timeless era mixed with modern politic and social statement. She’s infamous for breaking the mold and challenging the standards of the male dominated DJ culture. Encouraging and empowering other women is a cornerstone of Kyra’s expression.
Her DJ sets challenge gender norms and status quo within the electronic house and tech DJ music scene. Her eclectic, feel good sound & infectious energy leave the crowd begging for more.
Hailing from a musical family rooted with classically trained grandparents on one side, the rock n roll legend, Jerry Joseph, on the other.. creating music came naturally to her and surprised the acoustic focused family when she got into DJing. That being said, she still enjoys writing songs, playing guitar, and getting weird on the midi controller when she’s not mixing behind the decks.
Kyra harnesses a bold disco spirit and funky vibrance that is sure to keep you grooving. Always managing to bring your new and old favorites to the table, she is an undeniably feel-good force of musical nature. This fire will not be put out any time soon!
