Puerto Rican rapper KEVVO, known as the Prince of Perreo, blends trap and reggaetón, delivering flashy, boisterous lyrics with raunchy themes. He quickly became a star after debuting in 2019, when an all-star remix of his single “105 F” became a viral hit. Since then, he’s made further hits with artists like J Balvin (“Billettes Azules”), Rauw Alejandro (“El Effecto Remix”), and Chencho Corleone (“105 F Remix”), among others. In early 2021, he issued “Te Va Bien” in collaboration with Arcángel & Becky G, featuring Darell. He also joined Leebrian, De La Ghetto, and Noriel on the single “Pesseo,” in advance of his Interscope debut album, Cotidiano.
Kevin Manuel Rivera Allende was born in Toa Baja, Puerto Rico. He grew up listening to Puerto Rican rap and reggaetón artists like Cosculluela and Daddy Yankee, and started making beats as a hobby when he was eight years old after watching his dad produce tracks on a home computer. After several years of posting his beats and songs online, KEVVO received a call from a talent scout, and his career was quickly kicked into full gear. His debut single, “5:12,” appeared in March 2019, and was quickly followed by “105 F.” The song’s remix featured guest verses by several of the rapper’s heroes, including Farruko, Ñengo Flow, and Arcángel, and it ended up being a massive hit, reaching hundreds of millions of streams. Its success was followed by the similarly popular “El Efecto (Remix),” a collaboration with Rauw Alejandro and Chencho Corleone, additionally featuring Bryant Myers, Lyanno, and Dalex. KEVVO continued releasing tracks throughout 2020, including collaborations with Darell (“Booty Call”), Jay Wheeler (“No Lo Niegues”), and J Balvin (“Billetes Azules”). He issued tracks such as “Desahogo” and 2021′s “Te Va Bien,” with Arcángel & Becky G featuring Darell, and collaborated with Leebrian, De La Ghetto, and Noriel on the single “Pesseo” in anticipation of his Interscope debut album, Cotidiano. ~ Paul Simpson
