About this artist

Mexican singer/songwriter Kenia OS used her sizeable online following to launch a successful career as a musician, embracing a variety of bright, pop-centric sounds throughout the late 2010s and early 2020s.
Having established an immensely successful career as a vlogger on YouTube, Kenia Guadalupe Flores Osuna began to realize her musical ambitions as Lizos, debuting as a vocalist with the 2018 ballad “Por Siempre.” Immediately hitting multi-million numbers with her large online audience, she quickly demonstrated a vocal versatility on the trap-centric “Kenia Roast Yourself” and pop stylings of Bonita,” before issuing her first EP, En Vivo (Acústico). The following year saw her tackle a wider range of pop sounds, with the slick “Mentiroso,” her reggaeton debut “Delito,” and the posse cut “Energía,” each garnering millions of views online. In 2020, she leaned heavily into her relationship-centered lyricism, issuing a run of successful singles including “Escríbeme,” “Tercera Noche,” “Cocteles,” and “Tsunami.” The latter of these landed on a second EP, Canciones Pa Mi Ex, which closed out the year with a series of infectious breakup anthems. Themes of heartbreak continued into 2021 with the singles “Me Dolió” and “Desamor Feliz (Remix),” while the funk-addled “La Noche” added a catchy, disco-primed hit to her discography.
2022 was to be the Mexican vocalist’s most prolific year to date. After starting out with several high-profile collaborations (Snow Tha Product on “Joder” and CNCO on “Plutón”), she issued her debut album, Cambios de Luna, in the year’s early stages. The project, a 12-track set comprised entirely of new material, continued the airy blend of pop-centric sounds at the core of her most successful work thus far. A second full-length LP, K23, was issued just a few months later — in addition to continuing the musician’s pop-funk fusions and lighter themes, the project saw OS branch out into club anthems and incorporate electronic influences. ~ David Crone
