Kayna Samet

About this artist

French hip hop soul & RnB singer of Algerian origin, who started her career as an underground rapper. She chose the stage name "Kayna Samet", paying tribute to Kahina, the legendary female Berber commander. The debut album displayed her heart-wrenching raw vocals (compared by critics to Mary J. Blige), as well as introspective lyrics about harsh reality of second-generation immigrant youth facing tough circumstances of inner city living.
