Justin Caruso’s dance productions and remixes reside in the more effervescent, melodic realms of EDM and progressive house. After making his Billboard dance chart debut in 2014 with “Satellite,” he became known for his remixes of artists like X Ambassadors and Oliver Heldens, as well as collaborations with the likes of Tiësto and 3LAU.
A native of Los Angeles, Caruso began sharing his sparkling remixes of acts ranging from Zedd and Justin Bieber to the Who as a college student in the mid-2010s. “Satellite,” a collaboration with Audé featuring Christine Novelli, reached number 11 on Billboard’s Dance Club Songs chart in 2014. After several of his remixes, including one of X Ambassadors’ “Unsteady,” became multi-platform streaming hits in 2016, he followed up with original productions like “Talk About Me” featuring Victoria Zaro and “Caving” featuring James Droll (Warner Dance Labels) in 2017. As he became more and more in demand as a studio partner, he graduated from USC in 2018, the same year he reached the Top 20 of the Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart with “More Than a Stranger” featuring Cappa and Ryan Hicari. That year also saw the release of “Don’t Know You,” a collaboration with Jake Miller on Big Beat Records, and a remix of Oliver Heldens’ “Fire in My Soul” (featuring Shungudzo) that arrived at end of the year.
Caruso was soon working with Tiësto; their song “Feels So Good” featuring Kelli-Leigh arrived on Musical Freedom Records in 2019. The year delivered several more streaming successes for the producer, including the Armada Music release “Better with You” by Caruso and 3LAU featuring Iselin, and his own “Good Parts” featuring Mædi. ~ Marcy Donelson
