Sobre este artista

Julia Wolf’s idiosyncratic take on R&B and pop sees her move from low-slung 808 beats to slick, guitar-led synth pop in the blink of an eye, with songs “Gothic Babe Tendencies” and “Hot Killer” showcasing her eclectic style. Wolf’s debut EP, Girls in Purgatory, appeared in 2021 before she issued her first full-length LP, Good Thing We Stayed, in early 2023.
Born and raised in New York to Italian parents, Julia Wolf had her sights set on music at a young age, playing classical piano from the age of seven and writing her own material before eventually studying at the SUNY Purchase Conservatory of Music. Deciding to step away from the classical world, Wolf embarked on writing and producing her own material. She couldn’t find the right audience for her eclectic take on indie pop and after a possible move back to Italy with her parents, she hooked up with fellow New Yorker Jackson Foote (Loote). The pair instantly hit it off and with Foote’s connections, the pair started to write and record new material. The first fruits of their collaboration started to appear in 2019 with the tracks “Captions” and “Chlorine” showcasing Wolf’s silky vocals against a backdrop of anthemic pop. A string of tracks followed in 2020 including “Ghost” and “Pillow” which saw Wolf’s music go viral, and her eccentric take on R&B and pop found its fan base. 2021 saw Wolf deliver her debut EP, Girls in Purgatory, which included the much streamed “In My Way.” A consistent flow of tracks followed in 2022 before she issued her debut album, Good Thing We Stayed, in early 2023. ~ Rich Wilson
