Whether he’s spinning hard tribal house or backroom lounge music, DJ Joe Bermudez knows how to please a crowd. Born in Maine but based in Boston, Bermudez turned a board-operating job at a radio station into a local show and then a weekly show on the nationwide XM satellite radio network. He’s also the music director for the nationally syndicated radio show Open House Party with John Garabedian and a frequent contributor to DJ Times magazine. Successful remixes for Boy George, Darude, and D:Ream brought him to the attention of Pink. Remixing three tracks for Pink contributed to the success of her multi-platinum, 2001 album M!ssundaztood and opened the door to the world of high-profile remixing. Soon Mariah Carey, Celine Dion, LeAnn Rimes, Hilary Duff, and Kelly Clarkson were calling, adding to Bermudez’s heavy workload, already in high gear with club gigs around the world. ~ David Jeffries
