A child prodigy, Jane began playing piano at age four. Moving to Los Angeles in the Sixties, she met the writer Alice Kuhns. Alice and Jane started writing musicals together, and Jane studied orchestration and arranging with UCLA professor Albert Harris and film scoring with Earl Hagen. She became a staff writer for Mercury records, then Liberty records and Marzique Music Co. (owned by Harold Battiste Jr. She had over 200 songs published and recorded, not counting special material & music from musicals, and has released albums of her own material as well.
