Shen starred in European and American films and was awarded the Oscar three times. It happened twice for Best Actress - in Gaslight in 1944 and in Anastasia in 1956 - plus for Best Supporting Actress in Murder on the Orient Express in 1974.

Ingrid Bergman is best known for her roles as Ilsa Lund in Casablanca 1942, opposite Humphrey Bogart and as Alicia Huberman in Alfred Hitchcock's thriller Notorious! 1946, opposite Cary Grant. She is ranked by the American Film Institute as the fourth greatest female star in American film of all time.
