Swedenโs Imminence combines extreme metal aggression and technical prowess with classical strings and soaring pop melodies, resulting in a unique and powerful alternative metalcore sound, as heard on assured efforts like 2019โฒs Turn the Light On and 2024โฒs The Black. Founded in Trelleborg in 2009 and comprised of Eddie Berg (vocals, violin), Harald Barrett (guitar, backing vocals), Alex Arnoldsson (guitar), Peter Hanström (drums), and Christian Höijer (bass), the band issued its debut EP, Born of Sirus, independently in 2012. The release caught the attention of Victory Records sub-label We Are Triumphant, which released 2013โฒs Return to Helios EP and 2014โฒs full-length I. A lateral move to Arising Empire preceded the arrival of 2017โฒs This Is Goodbye, which saw the group beginning to solidify their stadium rock-meets-metalcore style, an aesthetic they fine-tuned on 2019โฒs acclaimed Turn the Light On. 2021โฒs Heaven in Hiding followed a similar blueprint, echoing the emotional dynamics of contemporaries like Architects and Currents, while 2024โฒs theatrical The Black saw the band embrace their classical side with an ambitious set rooted in djent riffs, atmospheric strings, and choir-filled progressive metal. ~ James Christopher Monger
