HS is a musician, songwriter, and composer from Duluth, MN. After strumming his first six string over fifteen years ago, HS has been playing guitar, writing songs, recording, performing live, and picking up other instruments along the way ever since.
After devoting his teens to mastering the guitar, HS spent several years through his 20's playing gigs around the Upper Midwest. These experiences focused largely on cover music and he thoroughly loved the interaction of playing music to live audiences, whether it was five people or five hundred. Using that experience to learn what crowds and audiences best responded to during the shows, HS poured his energy into individually tailoring each performance to connect with the crowd each and every night.
Following his experience in the cover band, HS turned his focus to songwriting and recording. Having always felt a passion to create, for the past two years he has been writing and recording original music with the hopes of becoming an established songwriter and getting his music published. Always on the lookout to work with ambitious and like minded artists, HS has collaborated with a variety of different singers to help him complete the songs he has written and recorded during this time.
Ranging from rock and country, to pop and alternative music, as well as having no lack of piano and acoustic ballads, HS writes, records, and composes music in nearly all mainstream genres. Following the example of artists like Bruce Springsteen, Queen, Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, and countless others, HS utilizes the unique sounds and styles of multiple genres of music to create a wide variety of radio friendly songs that can be enjoyed and appreciated across a broad audience. Whether it’s looking to write and record a country song primed for CMT and the rockabilly Nashville scene, a pop song looking to be the next top twenty hit, or an explosive ballad looking to showcase the emerging talent of a soulful new voice, HS strives to create music that can crossover markets and genres, and reach people of all ages, genders, backgrounds, and musical persuasions. Working with a diverse pool of talented singers, HS is able to write music that covers nearly the entire musical spectrum. His library of songs allows for both male and female vocalists, and at some point crosses into nearly every popular genre of music.
HS believes that music, above all else, has the unique ability to elicit emotion and connect people. Whether it’s the lyrics, the melody, or the combination of the two, good music is always certainly felt. It is with that philosophy of songwriting, and the idea that a good song is a good song, no matter what the genre, HS writes and records music.
