About this artist

The nom de plume of David Lee Crow, DJ, producer, and general EDM enthusiast Ghastly specializes in a heavy, provocative blend of house, trap, and dubstep that has earned the support of tastemakers like Skrillex, Diplo, and Steve Aoki. He’s released several heavily streamed tracks and remixes, including collaborations with Mija & Lil Jon, Getter, and Matthew Koma, and his self-issued debut album, The Mystifying Oracle, appeared in 2018. Subsequent releases have included the metal-tinged singles “Psycho” (with Moonboy, 2019) and “Blackout” (2021). Raised on a goat farm in Arizona, Crow initially flirted with metal before finding his muse in the pulsating lights and soul-shaking bass of electronic dance music. After relocating to Venice Beach and living out of his van West Coast hobo style, Crow found work (as well as his stage name) as Bassrush Resident DJ at Exchange L.A., while also securing a bevy of singles on labels such as OWSLA, Buygore, Mad Decent, and Dim Mak, including “Miami Connection” with Jauz and “Crank It” with Mija & Lil Jon. In 2017, he followed up his successful remix of Zomboy’s “Lights Out” with his own composition, the dark and danceable “Spider Symphony,” and collaborations with NGHTMRE and Matthew Koma. The Mystifying Oracle, his self-released 2018 full-length, included appearances by Barely Alive and Crankdat. He continued releasing aggressive stompers like “This Song Scares People” and 2019′s “Psycho” (with Moonboy), as well as more uplifting tracks like “I Have Ur Back” and 2020′s “Help (with Karra). His 2021 output included the bombastic trap tune “The OG” and the aggressive dubstep of “Blackout.” ~ James Christopher Monger
