About this artist

An invaluable sideman on electric and acoustic piano throughout the ‘60s and ‘70s to greats like Art Blakey, Sonny Rollins, Dexter Gordon and Art Pepper, Cables made a name for himself through his graceful and adroit soloing. Within the confines of Hard Bop, he managed to stay inventive while playing melodic tones. His own recordings began in the late ‘70s and have continued to maintain his consistent, dynamic sound.
