Electric Callboy

Electric Callboy is a German electronicore group known for their eclectic and danceable sound and relaxed, often comedic approach to the post-hardcore genre. The group operated for a decade as Eskimo Callboy before adopting their current moniker in 2021. Tekkno, their chart-topping sixth long-player and first under the Electric Callboy banner, was released in 2022
Founded in 2010 and based out of Castrop-Rauxel, Germany, members Sebastian “Sushi” Biesler (vocals), Kevin Ratajczak (vocals, keyboards), Daniel Haniß (guitar), Pascal Schillo (guitar), Daniel Klossek (bass), and David Friedrich (drums) have forged a sound that toes the line between pulsing and punishing, combining a late-night dance club vibe with thunderous breakdowns and ferocious screamed vocals. The electronicore outfit made their debut with a self-titled EP in 2010 before releasing their first full-length, Bury Me in Vegas, in 2012. Their sophomore follow-up, We Are the Mess, arrived in 2014 and launched the band onto the German and Austrian charts. The Scene arrived in 2017 and included the hit singles “M.C. Thunder,” “VIP,” and the punishing title track, the latter of which featured a guest spot from Attila’s Chris Fronzak. The group kept the party going in 2020 with the release of album number four, the melody-driven Rehab. It would be the last studio outing for vocalist Sushi, who left the fold shortly after the album’s release and embarked on a new project called Ghostkid.
More changes followed as the band announced that they would be changing their name to Electric Callboy in deference to the Inuit and Yupik people in Alaska. Nico Sallach (formerly of To the Rats and Wolves) became the group’s new vocalist, and in 2022 the newly minted Electric Callboy issued Tekkno. Their most diverse set of songs to date, combining elements of hardcore, pop-metal, alternative rock, and synth pop, the LP debuted at number one in Germany and appeared on multiple European charts. ~ Gregory Heaney & James Christopher Monger
