About this artist

Diego M is a guitarist, songwriter and producer based in Montreal, Canada. He began playing both classical and electric guitar at an early age in his native Colombia, and later studied jazz guitar with Richard Narvaez and Alan de Mause in New York.
After moving to Canada, Diego pursued studies in classical guitar with Mexican guitarist and composer Roque Carbajo. He then went on to work with Claude Reid at Cégep Vincent d’Indy in Montreal, followed by studies at McGill University with Dr. Garry Antonio, where Diego earned a Bachelor’s degree in Classical Guitar Performance. He is currently pursuing a Master’s of Music degree in performance at this same institution.
His most recent projects include working with Montreal producer Koudjo and artists Mokobe, Black Marche, Sarahmee and Alex Cunna. CD’s of his work with them were released in 2011 and 2012 to considerable acclaim. Diego is also collaborating with different artist from Canada, Europe and the United States.
In 2012, Diego will be presenting papers at two important graduate conferences in New York, at NYU and in Calgary, at the University of Calgary.
