About this artist

Integrating a variety of electronic dance styles and influences ranging from Depeche Mode and Daft Punk to A$AP Rocky, American producer Sage Devault goes by his last name. Often exhibiting an expansive, orchestrated sound and bright but yearning tone, he began releasing original productions, collaborations, and remixes in 2016, and quickly garnered millions of streams for tracks including 2016′s “Nothing New,” his 2017 remix of DJ Snake’s “A Different Way,” and his 2018 remix of “Don’t Let Me Down” by Sabrina Claudio featuring Khaled. His debut LP, Stay, arrived on Geffen in 2018. He followed that with a long series of EPs on labels like Insomniac and Ultra Records, and singles such as 2020′s “Tell Me” with BabyJake and 2022′s “HEAVEN’S GATE” featuring Izzy Camina. Devault released the highly collaborative SENSATION EP in 2024. A native of Orange County, California, DeVault started piecing together tracks as a hobby before beginning to perform and promote his music in his late teens. Early streaming breakthroughs included 2016′s “Right with You” and “Nothing New.” The latter featured drummer Joe Zizzo (the Sleeping, Sky Ferreira). Other early collaborators included StéLouse and Team Ezy, and Ayelle was featured on his track “Don’t You Want To,” released by Deadbeats in 2017. That year also saw DeVault remixes of Rihanna, Lorde, and Billie Eilish. He toured with Zeds Dead in late 2017 and finished the year with a remix of “A Different Way” by DJ Snake; it became his most well-known track yet. He followed it with “Leave Me Now” on Deadbeats in early 2018 before releasing his debut on Geffen Records. “Stay,” featuring Njomza and Bipolar Sunshine, arrived mid-year. The eight-track Stay album followed later in 2018. After releasing the JADE EP on Geffen Records in April 2019, DeVault collaborated with Alessia Cara, remixing her single “Out of Love.” He parted ways with Geffen, and his EP SAPPHIRE arrived on Insomniac Records in October 2019, with the RUBY EP following on the label in March of 2020. Later in the year, “Tell Me,” a collaboration with BabyJake, launched a series of remixes by artists including Dillon Nathaniel and Kryptogram. He changed labels again for the EP Empty Room, which appeared on Ultra Records, LLC in late 2021. Another EP, DIAMOND TAPE, come out on New Wave Records and Ultra Records in early 2022. It was highlighted by the single “HEAVEN’S GATE” featuring Izzy Camina. Between EPs, Devault delivered remixes of songs by Fitz and the Tantrums (“Sway”), Manila Killa (“Take Me Higher”), and Daya (“Juliene”), and issued his own recordings “Want You Tonight,” “Can’t Go Wrong” (both featuring Linus), and “Get to You” (with Griff Clawson), among his solo outings. The collaboration-heavy SENSATION EP arrived in September 2024 and was accompanied by a tour of the U.S. ~ Marcy Donelson
