Inspired by techno, electro, and tribal sounds, David Tort started his career in 1988 with hopes of introducing his favorite dance music to his homeland of Sitges, Spain. Starting out recording acid house and industrial tracks of his own, as well as making remixes for Vale Music recording artists, it took him nearly a full decade before he found his niche as a house DJ. In 2001, he teamed up with Toni Bali and Carlo Caesar to set up a studio called Elestudiodigital. The three started recording under the moniker Drummers of Love, and released the single “Drums of Love.” The song was a success internationally and Tort started touring clubs and collaborating with more record companies, including Weekend Records, Sutil Records, and House Works. In October of 2004, he started his own recording studio called Overbooking Studio and in 2005 he collaborated there with Francesco Farfa and co-wrote “Acidazzo,” the first single from Farfa’s debut, Human Bridge. That year, he started collaborating with DJ Ruff in Los Angeles, making club tracks and music for television commercials. Continuing to expand his interests, he ventured into some other multimedia projects and broadcast radio shows on Loca FM (Madrid) and CB FM (Barcelona). In early 2008, Deejay Mag named him best DJ remixer of 2007, and he made plans to release new remixes with DJ Disciple. ~ Jason Lymangrover
