About this artist

A fictional band partly inspired by Fleetwood Mac, Daisy Jones & the Six reflect the poppier blues-, folk-, and album rock of the 1970s. Based on a 2019 novel by Taylor Jenkins Reid, which tells the story of the ill-fated ’70s group through interviews, the 2023 Amazon Studios adaptation gave voice to the music with the album Aurora. Some of its behind-the-scenes contributors included Jackson Browne, Blake Mills, and Phoebe Bridgers, while Riley Keough played the titular singer both onscreen and on vinyl.
Originating from a New York Times best-seller of the same name, fictional Los Angeles rock outfit Daisy Jones & the Six became the subject of a miniseries that premiered on Amazon Prime in March 2023. The series’ executive producers included Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber, the screenwriting team behind the film 500 Days of Summer, who also signed on in 2019 to write the teleplay. Starring Riley Keough, who made her film debut in the 2010 biopic about ’70s punk group the Runaways, the band also comprised recording artists Suki Waterhouse (as keyboardist Karen Sirko) and More Like Trees’ Josh Whitehouse (as bassist Eddie Roundtree) as well as Sam Claflin (co-leader Billy Dunne), Will Harrison (lead guitarist Graham Dunne), and Sebastian Chacon (drummer Warren Rojas). It should be noted that the TV lineup diverges slightly from the book.
Multifaceted indie musician Blake Mills was enlisted to construct the Six’s sound and produce their faux debut album, Aurora. It included songwriting contributions from the likes of Jackson Browne, Phoebe Bridgers, and Marcus Mumford. Aurora arrived on Atlantic on March 3, 2023, coinciding with the series’ premiere. ~ Marcy Donelson
