About this artist

The rap artist/producer known as CMHretro hails from Gardena California. Clearly a talented wordsmith, he’s continues to build his own lane. Music is in his bloodline. Growing up in Los Angeles, his main influences were ‪DJ Quik‬, ‪Ice Cube‬, ‪Snoop Dogg‬ & Dr. Dre. He studied their albums and eventually started writing his own songs. Later down the line, he eventually started making his own beats. “This kid has a gift! His sound is unique and will one day influence the world.” said Mike Parris (Show promoter).
At the early age of 7, CMH developed a passion for music. By the time he turned 11, he was already writing rhymes. Due to his parents break up, he began to use writing as an escape from reality. "I loved rap music because that’s what my dad was into," says CMH "and when he moved out I felt that if I rapped too, it would eventually bring us closer."
The first project that CMH released was titled “Foreverlasting.” The mixtape was a collaboration with his friend KB. By the age of 18, he released his first solo project "Impatiently Waiting." Which was hosted by Big PeeWee from KJLH. Then he was featured on 3 of Big PeeWee's Blockhits cd's. Following that up, CMH released an EP titled "ART." Which featured remixes to production by ‪Clams Casino‬. In 2013 he released a mixtape titled "DOPE." This project included "Do My Thang," which is the song to his first official video. "Give It Up" was another song that was featured and played live on an internet radio station called Home Grown Radio.  Which eventually led to him doing an on air interview. Each song was produced by his high school friend and RTSG member, MacFarlin. His catalogue shows his growth as an artist and how much he has matured as a person.
RTSG (RETRO Team Slash Gang) is a movement that CMH created with his friends. The group includes other upcoming artists like Bambeeno, MacFarlin, Boii Smiff, Jay Durr, AJ, Diallo & ChrisMo. In his 2nd year of college, CMH teamed up with an upcoming producer named K-Los to form a duo group by the name of iMAGERY. K-Los is the producer and CMH is the Lyricist.
In 2015 they released their first official mixtape together titled "Prince Skip & K-Los Present iMAGERY." The project is sponsored on DatPiff and was also featured in the 'Indy Spotlight’.
CMH has had interviews and songs played on multiple internet radio shows. Including Home Grown Radio, The Only HipHop Show, Accelerated Radio and the Music Showcase with Big Gino. He’s released multiple singles. One of them featuring Glasses Malone titled “Like Me.”
Formally known as Prince Skip, CMHretro continues to exceed expectations. He has a new project out now titled “It Was Already Written.” It showcases his growth as both an artist and producer. With singles like “Black Chucks” and “Real Big,” he definitely proves that his sound is here to stay. Take a listen and see for yourself. “It Was Already Written” is available on all streaming platforms!
