About this artist

“Music that hits the heart and tugs at the emotional strings of the mind, and a musician who can paint a musical landscape of wondrous proportions” is how One World Music Radio describes the music and artistry of award-winning Kawai artist, Brad Jacobsen.

Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, Brad reluctantly began taking piano lessons at the age of 8, with his parents promise -"You'll thank us later." While not initially a fan of the piano, Brad was a natural storyteller, and could often be found sharing scary stories with friends or rallying neighborhood kids to help produce the next blockbuster. In his late teens, after hearing artists such as George Winston, David Lanz, and Jim Brickman, Brad finally understood the connection between music and storytelling, and began exploring piano composition as a way to communicate ideas, emotions and of course, stories.

While music composition took a backseat to other endeavors, it remained an integral part of Brad's life, and years later as a married father with three young boys he finally recorded his first album, "Road Home." Released in 2011, the album was inspired by significant life events, including Brad's marriage to his wonderful wife in 2003 and the unexpected passing of his father in 2004. "Road Home" was followed just a few months later by "Deck the Halls," the first in a trilogy of popular, award-winning Christmas albums.

For 2013's "Thirteen Tales," Brad found inspiration in the classic stories of Grimm, Andersen, and others. His subsequent albums vary in theme from original compositions to refreshing and contemporary arrangements of well-loved hymns, Celtic music, and folk songs. His music was also recommended by Deepak Chopra in a 2019 CNBC article.

A lifelong resident of the Pacific Northwest, Brad and his family make their home in the foothills of Mt. Rainier. All of his albums have been recorded at the renowned Piano Haven Studio in Sedona, AZ. To learn more, visit www.bradjacobsenmusic.com
