With his yearning vocals and bright, kinetic rhythms, Bhadboi OML synthesizes the classic Afrobeat sounds of icons like Fela Kuti into a modern Nigerian framework. After establishing himself with popular singles like “Product of Adam” and “Goodness” the singer released his debut EP Bhadriyun in 2023. He followed in 2024 with a string of solo singles like “Owereke” and collaborations with Cazulee. Akinyinka Kuham Oladimeji was born February 19, 2000, in the Mushin district of Nigeria’s capital Lagos. Taking the stage name Bhadboi OML, he developed a musical style that honored Afrobeat’s rhythmic foundations, particularly those of genre pioneer Fela Kuti, and fused them with the glowing style of modern Afropop production. OML began building his audience in 2021 with songs like “Damages Cover” and “Product of Adam.” Over the next two years, he tried out different styles ranging from slick club tracks like “My Party” with Superwozzy to the uplifting anthem “Goodness.” Signed to Nigerian label Dvpper Music, he released his debut project, the seven-song EP, Bhadriyun, with its breakout single “Shkran Lak.” In 2024, OML collaborated with artists like Dreez MaliQ, Bob blaq, and Cazulee, while releasing his own single, “Owereke,” which appeared on a deluxe version of Bhadriyun. ~ Timothy Monger
