About this artist

A project helmed by Maine singer/songwriter Zach Hurd, Bay Ledges’ beachy alt-pop songs merge folky guitar with glitchy bedroom electronic production. Bay Ledges first went viral with 2016′s “Safe,” then issued a series of EPs before making their full-length debut with the bright and beachy Ritual in 2022.
After relocating from coastal Maine to Los Angeles in 2015, Zach Hurd recorded Bay Ledges’ debut single, “Claire,” with his sister Georgia as a tribute to their late grandmother. In April 2016, the project re-emerged with The EP, following it that November with another song, the viral “Safe,” which garnered the interest of multiple record labels. Hurd signed with S-Curve and delivered the Fountain Tropical EP in 2017. The streak of EPs with covers featuring illustrations of sunrises and sunsets continued with 2018′s In Waves and his Nettwerk Music Group debut, 2020′s New Daze. In the meantime, he toured with the likes of Yoke Lore and Magic City Hippies and moved back to his home state of Maine.
In May of 2022, Nettwerk issued Bay Ledges’ 13-song full-length debut, Ritual. It was written, produced, and mixed entirely by Hurd. After releasing a remix of St. Lucia’s “The Golden Age,” followed by new song “Sylvia (Na Na Na),” he spent much of 2023 on tours with Trevor Hall, Big Wild, and Goth Babe in addition to festival dates and his own headlining shows. ~ Marcy Donelson & Neil Z.
