About this artist

Starting out on London pirate radio station Don FM, playing an experimental techno show, as his alias Silverlining. He and Ian O’Brien (as Memory Tree), had their 1st release Dual, in 1995.

Reverberations, the label, party event organiser, and production team, consisted of the following partners: Asad Rizvi, Charlie Inman, Joel Brittain, Paul Soul, Ravi McArthur, Rob Summerhayes and Tom Gillieron. They organised many parties, at some of the most exhilarating venues across the globe, on the foot of a volcano in Hawaii, the top floor of a skyscraper in Brazil, a beach party in India, many clubs in London, on boats along the River Thames, and even on request in people’s houses… As of 2012, the Reverberations label is now known as the RvS label.

Asad Rizvi and Ravi McArthur, recorded as the alias Impossible Beings from 1996–2003, creating amazing and definitive London deep house and London tech house of the era.

In 1999 Asad Rizvi and Charlie Inman collaborated as Appleheadz, as a London deep house and London tech house fusion project, and found a home on Brighton’s Loaded Records.

Has played regularly at Fabric, Wiggle, The End, as well as 100s of venues across over 40 countries, from Berlin to Buenos Aires, Mexico to Paris, Tokyo, New Zealand to Vancouver, and it does not stop there.

Between 2001–2003 ran with Rob Summerhayes, the ‘Get Groovy Reverberations Shows’ on the legendary Groovetech.com Radio, that were definitive sets and mixes of that era, playing what were absolute classics and masterpieces. These mixes were also examples of effective collaboration, sometimes playing back-to-back with Swayzak, Konrad Black, and Layo & Bushwacka! for more than 6 hours. His music from this time was heavily musical, using instruments, machines and technology in amazing ways, creating music that defined, described and became London around 2002. His music at points became essentially genreless… (in the sense that it became irrelevant as to what genre it was, heading more into movie-like music, being very story and narrative based).

Asad’s work under the alias of Silverlining, focuses on his darker, dubbier and more dancefloor-orientated and varied material. Has released on Tag Records, Eukahouse, Japan’s Ing Recordings, and Neotropiq. His single Precision Spanner’ in 1998 on Wrong, also picked up a ‘vital release’ in Muzik Magazine.

2013–2016, saw him once again, make much new material and with many collaborators, under his alias of Asadinho.

2016 onwards, saw him release more material under his alias of Silverlining.

2021 saw the release of his 1st album Simulacra.

Countless releases from 1995 onwards, focusing on single vinyl EPs, spanning 3 decades and on a very wide-range of cutting edge labels like Wiggle, Eukahouse, Neotropiq, Furthur Electronix, SOCO Audio, Jockey Slut, and Tango Recordings.

There is no denying Asad Rizvi has been a central figure in the 2000-era London deep house and London tech house scenes, but also much wider, for many decades. And has been a very enigmatic and supportive figure, for many in London and worldwide. His commissioning and collaborations with musicians and DJs, is endless, and spans decade-after-decade (he has become an almost guardian figure of London music), and has been very important for the musical genres connected to it. Still continues to put as much time and effort into lesser known venues and initiatives, as better known ones.

In 2023 he continues the journey, in his 3rd career decade, and was commissioned to play all over the world, especially in Australia, as well as playing back-to-back with new Fabric resident Anna Wall.
